The Clays

Geophagia (etymology : ingestion of earth - in the facts, mainly an ingestion of clay) is widely practiced in the animal world, including higher primates, and humans living in societies where such behavior is considered normal. In the latter, the daily consumption is important, with an average of 60 grams of clay for an adult, many people ingesting 150 g per day of clay, and some 300 grams.
